Re:Framing Your Dance
Often when we learn, our focus is on performing a concept or technique, but we don’t see a direct line from having competency in a tool, to seeing the result that the tool is supposed to be providing.
- How many different “basics” have you learned?
- How many approaches to musicality?
- How many different iterations of what Stretch and Compression are and how they work?
In this 3-hour intensive with Champion WCS dancer, choreographer, and coach Stephen White, we'll take a results-oriented approach to how we think about learning within our gloriously non-standardized and ever-evolving dance form.

If you are interested in either learning how to judge, becoming a more knowledgeable competitor, and/or continuing to grow your mock judging experience, Retaliation is offering an opportunity for you! This course is open to all levels of dancers.
You will receive a minimum of 5 hours of classroom time, along with the opportunity to mock judge the competitions. We will cover the logistics of judging, time management, and how to handle your biases, both those you are aware of and the ones you subconsciously have.
Your instructor will be Retaliation Swing's Assistant HJ, Wren Newman. Wren has been trained by the top WSDC Certified Judges and has been judging for 10 years. She is currently the Assistant Chief Judge for several WSDC conventions and is actively working toward her own WSDC CJ Certification.
Information:
• You must hold a full weekend pass to participate.
• While you are encouraged to attend all classroom time, you may manage your own participation.

Advanced Dancers! As a part of your full weekend pass, you have entry to the Advanced/AllStar mini-workshop track!
This is available to you with your full weekend pass at no additional cost, but I need y'all to buy one of these so I can give you the correct wristband.
This is NOT a standalone pass, you MUST be a full weekend pass holder to be eligible for this track.
